Privacy

The modeling app does not require an account. There is no user database. This page states where data lives. It is not a privacy policy for a SaaS workspace.

Deal data

Your cap table lives in this browser, in localStorage on this device. Computed results are not stored; they are recalculated from inputs. Clearing site data, switching browsers, or using another device without a JSON export means the model is gone.

What the host sees

Loading the page hits the static host (Vercel). Standard web logs may include IP address and user agent. The site uses Vercel Web Analytics: cookieless, aggregate page views plus counts of JSON exports, calculator share-link copies, and clicks from a calculator to the app. It never receives cap table data, holder names, or file contents. A calculator share link carries the numbers you entered after the # in the URL, a part browsers do not send to the server. The host does not receive your cap table as part of normal modeling.

Email signup

If you subscribe on the welcome page, your email address and signup time are stored privately (Vercel Blob) and used only to send CapStack updates. Nothing else is attached to it.

What can leave the machine

• Modeling pages serve Fraunces and DM Mono from this site. The skills screener still loads Inter and Source Serif from Google Fonts.
• Model BLUF & Ask: the on-device digest stays in this browser. If you save a self-hosted agent URL, BLUF and Ask POST the complete browser model (sourceState: company, holders, rounds, convertibles, assumptions, exits, and written claims) to that URL, together with the question. The optional API key is kept in sessionStorage for the current tab and is not written to localStorage. That service may then send a reduced projection to its model provider. CapStack’s static host does not see that traffic.
• Send Feedback (optional): you choose to submit a message. The full redacted text is stored in a private Vercel Blob and posted to an internal Slack channel. If an AI gateway key is configured, a short summary is generated and may appear on the public /feedback page (noindex). The page lists summaries, not the original message.
